Easy Mod Updater is an automatic AddOn manager for World of Warcraft. I dropped support for the first build of this program as it took too long to manually update the server with new AddOns and because its build was not compatible with some configurations of Windows Vista.

I have just finished the first Beat build of the EMU Ver2 client. So whats new? All code is full intergrated, its Vista friendly but on the whole it does the same job as the same client.

Why did it take so long? Alongside the cleint I have written a serverside which is able to automatically update all AddOns on the EMU database without any user intervention. The server side has been designed to allow the addition of new AddOns to the database within seconds.

EMU is entering its internal Beta in a couple of days and will initially support the following AddOns:

Omen Threat Meter
Deadly Boss Mods
Quest Helper
Gatherer
Recount (Damage Meters)
Cartographer
HealBot
Atlas
AtlasLoot Enhanced (Req. Atlas)

I've got various addons, I'll copy my file details. Hang on;

cartographer
buy poisons
icehud
xperl
atlasloot
bongos
itemrck
spammenot
proximo
titan panel
fast disenchant
auctioneer
autoprofit
gatherer
group calander
quest helper
onebag
fast disenchant
scrolling combat text
kill spree announcer
omen threat meter
grid

Thats my .txt file incase I wanna restart them, so I know which ones to get again.

I use xperl, but theres a problem at the minute with removing friendly buffs. E.g. Chess in Kara (although no need to worry anymore, 70+ etc). However it's a pain if you buff yourself aggro as a pala, then cannot remove it when needed. Hmph.

The below link is a test release. The Easy Mod Updater downloads files form instantfail.com and as such will only download updates when we update our server, typically this occurs once a day (more frequently after patches).

http://www.instantfail.com/emuclient/EMU.exe

I advise you place EMU.exe in you WOW directory and then run it, although it will run from any folder anywhere. Please post any bugs here.

Bulmer, I'll try to add some more of the add-ons you use to it.

I've been told that EMU may not work if you are using Vista and WoW is installed in the 'Program Files' folder. I'll look into a fix...

Update to version 091.

Changes.

-There is now a longer delay when EMU automatically launches WoW
-Fixed a bug whereby the WoW folder selected when in the settings screen was not saving.
-Minor server-side optimisations

Heh, cheers. :)

Just working on the next update which will add an option to view the addons website from the update screen. It will also add a link to instant fail...

Sounds easy to do but it's not as the download urls for each addon are not sent to the client...

I'm also simplifying and cleaning up the configuration screen and trying to improve vista compatibility when EMU is installed in the program files directory. 'Should' be ready in a few days...

I still think everyone will favour wowmatrix though :(

Updated to ver 0.92

Changes

-Server optimisations to allow AddOn URL's to be sent to client
-Fixed a view bug on AddOn selection screen.
-Corrected AddOn toc info - It corrupted after the server update.
-EMU now correctly display number of addons installed and available after install/remove.

Working on a large update now which I hope bring EMU in line with a full release. Will take a few weeks due to work and other commitments though.

So far all feedback is good! Keep it coming!
